We meet again soft leather lovers. A different topic this time. We are not that many days away from the Christmas holidays and three major holidays. Big shopping day the Friday after Thanksgiving and then Christmas. Every year we like to reward our customers with a way to help make the holidays more affordable.
We run what is called the MoonDancer Declining Discount Sale. We start with a very deep 40% discount for almost two weeks and then gradually drop down to a 20% discount over the Christmas to New year’s period. All of our newsletter subscribers enjoy a 20% discount on all their purchases all year long.
In the past, this discount was only offered to our newsletter subscribers. But in the last few months, we have seen an increasing number of new visitors to our websites. So this year we are going to be offering the discount to all visitors. Will be interesting to see how well this works. We want to be sure we are able to get as many items made and shipped for arrival before Christmas. We just hope not to get overwhelmed by those “last minute” shoppers. ( I admit I am one of them)
The other situation we encounter every year is the post office losing our packages. We use Click-N-Ship preprinted labels so that does not present problem. We have learned over the years to ship in sturdy boxes or even envelopes. Lots of shipping tape. Every year five or six mostly going to the eastern half of the United States turn up missing. Very few are ever found. One year fifteen packages made it to Tokyo and were discovered well after the holidays.
So this is how the discounts are actually applied:

This year we have two items still at an introductory price. With one of the discounts applied to the introductory price makes one or both of these an excellent Christmas buy. One is our new Simply Soft Bag. The other is a new beaded leather Choker which could be used as part of a set. Great gifts at a deeply discounted price. We have a couple of new products in the works that may make it out before the end of the year. Another great buying opportunity. Subscribers always get that opportunity first at even better prices.
One negative bit of news is that we have been notified by our suppliers and shippers (including USPS) that costs and rates will be going up again in January. We will be faced the unpleasant task of raising prices. Which makes this end of the year declining discount reward sale probably the last time anyone can buy this kind of buttery soft quality at these prices ever again.
