MoonDancer BLOG Post for September 1, 2016
Hello, soft leather lovers! It has been quite some time since I have posted a blog for MoonDancer Leather. I thought it was correct to have a single blog for all of our websites but have since learned from several Internet Marketing Gurus that each site should have its own blog.
So here we are today on the original MoonDancer Leather site to post the first individual site blog. We have still been here all along making our deerskin products but we have been doubly busy trying to keep up with Internet Marketing trends (and some mandates) so we would not get lost in the crowd of millions on websites on the internet now.
We thought we had some pretty good websites. Looking good and continuing our line of southwest products. But my how things have rapidly changed. We have learned that 89% if you now do your internet shopping on your mobile devices. Our beautiful sites did not look so “pretty” on those. Then Google comes along and says get all of your sites “Mobile Ready” or watch your site ranking sink into oblivion.
So that is what we have feverishly been working on for most of 2016. As a result, our Google ranking not only held but has actually improved to page 1 with some keywords.
We still have members of our staff keeping control of the quality products we have always made but we have basically been forced to spend a large portion of our time on keeping the sites up to date with internet marketing or we would just get “lost in the crowd”. We can’t expect every one of you to remember who and what we are so we are doing our best to make it easy for you to find us.
So now that we have all of that technical talk out of the way let’s bring you up to date on some of the things we have done to improve our products and bring more of them to you.
I think the most important (and biggest) change we have made was to eliminate machine sewing any of our items. We now have 100% handmade leather products. Some areas like zippers attachment made look to be machine sewn, but nooo… It is all done by hand. Where major pieces come together they are all hand stitched with lace.
Our products are not only made stronger and more durable but the handmade character of the products thoroughly enhance the true southwestern beauty and “flavor” of each product. The feedback and testimonials we have received with that change have been great! Be sure to closely look at the photos for that as you browse through the pages of our sites.
We have added a few new products since January but I am only going to address one in this post. You all now fringe has been a HOT fashion item the last year or so and we have plenty items to fill that need. But along with the change to all handmade products we were getting some feedback asking for a simple bag. Soft, southwestern and no fringe. Something everyone can afford.
So we came up with the Simply Soft Bag. Same size as our perennial favorite Taos Purse. The handmade aspect of the bag makes it look great but we added using small pieces laced together to give it an even more “rugged” look. It was slow to catch on but now it has started to get a lot of attention. Please take a close look at this new piece. We are sure it will please you.
